Everything that Kate wore on the Royal Tour

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – Prince William and Kate Middleton had a very interesting tour of India. While they did some great charity work, Kate’s wardrobe has been much talked about.



For her first day, she wore an Alexander McQueen with a paisley motif. She and William laid a wreath at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai to pay their respects to the victims of the 2008 terror attacks. Kate’s choice of attire was spot on given the nature of the event.



Then the couple hit Oval Maidan to play some cricket with none other than Sachin Tendulkar. Kate wore a summer-perfect Anita Dongre and made it so popular that the designer’s site crashed thanks to all that traffic.

For a charity dinner with the most influential names in India, Kate wore a blue Jenny Packham, the beadwork of which was done in India. It’s not her best Jenny Packham, but it surely will be remembered. Her bag is custom made and her earrings are by Amrapali.



In Delhi while visiting the Gandhi Smriti, Kate chose a white Emilia Wickstead look. It’s more traditional Kate, but what’s with those flaps on the chest?

For a garden party she wore a crop top and skirt by Temperley London. The details on the skirt and top are exquisite and Kate wears it well.

Kate chose a high-street look while meeting children in Delhi. The maxi by Glamorous.com is inspired by Indian textiles and is also wearable by us regular folk.

While on a safari, Kate chose neutral shades. She wore a polka-dotted shirt by RM Williams and brown pants by Zara.



While meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kate chose a beautiful green Temperley London dress. If the proportions seem a little off, it’s because the dress was altered to have a longer hemline. Nonetheless it’s a lovely dress.

In Guwahati, Kate celebrated Bihu in a blue and green Anna Sui maxi. It was as cheerful as she looked.

She also wore a TopShop dress with black detailing. It’s comfy and summer-friendly and you know that anyone of us could be wearing something similar to brunch. 

From Guwahati, Kate left for Bhutan wearing a printed Tory Burch dress.

She changed on the plane so when she landed in Bhutan, Kate was seen in another Emilia Wickstead look. Kate previously wore this yellow coat dress in 2012 for an event in Scotland.

Then Kate changed into a kira, which is a Bhutanese garment. However, she modified it and only wore the bottom half and teamed it with a Paul and Joe wool cape. The embroidery work was actually done in India. The fabric of the skirt was woven by a Bhutanese weaver. What a lovely way to acknowledge your host countries!

For dinner with the King and Queen of Bhutan, Kate wore a Tory Burch retro-inspired mesh floral dress. It’s a gorgeous pattern and thanks to the colourful look and slit, it’s a little different from what we normally see Kate wear.  

Kate and William took a three-hour hike to a monastery in Bhutan. Kate was seen in a vest and boots she’s had for over 10 years now.

For another event, Kate wore a Beulah London gown with poppies on it. The poppy is Bhutan’s national flower so the dress was a great way to doff her hat to the country.

While leaving Bhutan for India, Kate wore another McQueen which she’s worn previously. An interesting addition was the gold and diamond necklace that Queen Jetsun of Bhutan gifted her.

Guess Kate saved the best for the last. On their final day of the tour, Kate wore a Naeem Khan dress to visit the Taj Mahal. It’s a very smart choice. The embroidery is Mexican-inspired, but done in India. The blue and white combination feels like a homage to the Taj itself. It’s romantic like the Taj and dreamy just like the monument.
